Town of Telluride Valley Floor Preserve

Nordic skiers of all abilities are offered more than 15 kilometers of rolling, open terrain on the Town of Telluride Valley Floor Preserve. There is nearly 10 kilometers of trail specially groomed for snow bikes, hiking, snow shoeing, and skiing.

Dogs are not allowed on any Valley Floor Preserve Nordic or multi-use trails. Dogs are allowed on Boomerang Road Trail and parts of the River Trail.

There are three main trailheads. From east to west, these are Mahoney, Boomerang, and Lawson. Parking is available on Mahoney Drive, or parking is available at Carhenge skier lot, just one block away. Limited parking available at Boomerang Road trailhead. Ample parking available at Lawson Hill.

Bikers, hikers and snowshoers are allowed only on the multi-use trails. Skiers are allowed on all trails.

All grooming on Valley Floor trails occurs between dawn and dusk. Please be aware of equipment operations and yield to groomers at all times.

Hours of grooming operations on the Valley Floor are dawn to dusk. Reference the sunrise/sunset calendar below for appropriate earliest start-time and latest end-time for on-trail work.
